I am searching for developing information on an over/under shotgun with serial quantity SKB CF 5156XBack button. My granddad handed it on tó me and thé only back story he offers is definitely that he bought it used in about 1981 from a man that could simply no longer shoot snare and skeet.
It appears like a Field Gun, it has a blued receiver, with a little scroll work on the sides of it. IIRC, Ithaca stopped importing the SKB series in 1977. Some resources have mentioned that SKB went into bankruptancy aróund 1980. There had been a time period of period when the guns were not obtainable in the Areas. About that time, I contacted the Japanese Trade Consul and was given the address for 'The New SKB Company.' Mitsui in Chicago picked up the range and importéd it until abóut 1984.
