Stellarium Landscapes Zip

I have manged to load a panorama of my backyard in the landscape directory but I am out by 45 degrees. I did find the code to change the landscape.ini file (I hope) but can't edit the landscape.ini file - access denied error.I can't seem to find anyone who had this problem previously so maybe I am doing something wrong with something else? Why can't I edit this file?code to rotate landscape is?

'anglerotatez=45.0'worst case I can go back and reshoot the picture starting at the correct point. I started at due south. I thought I read somewhere that is what I was supposed to do? Access denied error has nothing to do with Stellarium, but with your operating system. Of course you must be able to edit your own landscape.ini to configure it, in the same way as you changed the texture name and landscape name, location, and other factors. Assuming that you might be using Windows, did you put your landscape under the system-owned general-user-write-denied directory C:Program FilesStellariumlandscapes instead of, as the Guide clearly describes, C:UsersYOUAppDataRoamingStellariumlandscapes?BTW, existing examples and the Guide indicate it's anglerotatez for spherical, and decoranglerotatez/groundanglerotatez for oldstyle landscapes.

If in doubt, read the Guide. I am not a programmer, I am no expert on Windows 10 and I can't find the answer in the guide so forgive the additional question.I downloaded an additional landscape file (woodhenge) and copied my landscape.png file over the woodhenge.png file. Somehow I managed to get the edited file into the C:Program FilesStellariumlandscapes which now shows my backyard panorama under the woodhenge landscape name. I want to have a fie called mybackyard but can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I can see the difference between the two directories(as was pointed out) but my C:UsersYOUAppDataRoamingStellarium directory does not have a landscape folder? I thought I did the standard install but obviously am missing something.I have played with this for a while and don't actually remember how I managed to get the modified woodhenge file into the program files directory?

As was pointed out, I don't have the rights. I have a directory that I have named mybackyard with the files in it I need but don't know what the next step is to complete the setup? When you copied over your pano into the woodhenge folder, Windows quite certainly asked you for permission: Screen gets dark for a second, pingping. Let concede the fact that I am no Windows expert (any version) and I am a novice with Stellarium.Believe me when I say I would rather follow the instructions in a manual rather than go through this process.

I have re-read the various sections of the manual and I don't see the answer 'clearly described'.The 'admin priveleges message' does come up but it still allows me to create and copy folders into the program files sub directory. It seems like Stellarium is looking somewhere else to get the landscape files because it is not seeing the new directory I created. It isn't looking at the appdata subdirectory file because there was nothing there. I have re-booted the program. I am thinking somehow I did something in the install that has the directory structure messed up.

Read Chapter 5 of the Guide for a basic understanding of the files and directories structure.

Go into C:UsersYOUAppDataRoamingStellarium as clearly described in the introduction section of section 7.1 of the Guide. Create new folder 'landscapes' if it does not yet exist. Go into 'landscapes' folder. Create new folder 'mybackyard' if it does not yet exist. Go into 'mybackyard' folder. Create landscape.ini text file if it does not yet exist.

Use a text editor to fill in the fields. You can also copy landscape.ini from your woodhenge folder, or landscape.ini from the built-in grossmugl landscape to start with that, but of course edit fields 'name', 'location' etc. And the maptex etc. Fields clearly described in section 7.1.3 of the Guide. Copy your panorama.png into this folder. Start Stellarium, select landscape with the name given in the name field in landscape.ini, enjoy.

How to install landscapes After you have downloaded the.zip file for a landscape from this page, you need to install it in.Manual.If you are using an earlier version of Stellarium, you can follow this procedure to install a landscape package:. Browse to your, which varies according to your operating system. In Windows Vista/7 enter%appdata%stellarium in Explorer's location bar ). Create a sub-directory called landscapes in your user directory (if it doesn't exist). Unzip the landscape.zip file in the landscapes directory (if it's done right, a sub-directory should be created for each landscape).NOTE: Older version of Stellarium (prior to v0.9.0) used a slightly different mechanism for doing landscapes.
